Remember that these sickle cell disease children, teenagers, and adults have inherited from their parents other genes to make them brilliant, beautiful, and much else. They must be looked after properly to make them use their brilliant genes to become ACHIEVERS in life.

Dear Alfy
Sorry about delay in getting back to you. First of all, Blood Group has nothing to do with Haemoglobin Type so it does not come into the question you posed.
Now, if you are AC and boy friend is SC, the potential outcome of any children you may have will be CC (some aches occasionally), SC (just like your boy friend), AS (no problem), AC (just like you).
There is no definite order in which combinations occur. If you have just 2 children they may come AC AC or SC SC or SC AS or AS AS or AS AC or CC CC or CC AC or AC SC (just like you and you boy friend). If you decide to have just 1 child then any of the 4 different phenotypes is possible.
I never advise somebody whom not to marry. I just tell them what to expect and let them decide for themselves. If they are fortunate to have first two children to be Traits who always have 1 normal gene like you have, then disease phenotype with no normal ‘A’ Haemoglobin will be avoided. Traits are AS and AC, avoiding SC and CC. Hope this is clear. See http://bit.ly/1w3BuvM and teach others who want to learn. Study http://www.sicklecell.md and let me know what you decide. Best wishes.
